Veliscia Hodges, APN, MSN, FNP-C
I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I attended the University of St. Francis where I graduated at the top of my class as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). Before advancing my career as an APN, I was a Registered Nurse for 17 years — therefore, I have over 25 years in the medical field.
Throughout my years as a Primary Care Provider, I’ve seen so many patients with obesity related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, gall bladder disease, PCOS and many more. At the time, I was treating the problem of the disease and not the disease itself which is Obesity. With my new passion, I became a member of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) and began to study and become educated on obesity. I then decided to change the way I practice and began treating the disease of Obesity, to eliminate or decrease these related diseases. My goal is to offer a wholistic approach to complete wellness. This would improve your quality of life, longevity and overall health. I believe in healing the body from within with whole foods.
Autoimmune health and wellness is a personal passion of mine because of my own struggles with Autoimmune disease. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 1998. I went through surgery in 2001 to have part of my small bowel removed. Throughout the years, I’ve been on numerous amounts of medications, injections and infusions but nothing ever helped. I first learned about Autoimmune Paleo Protocol (AIP) in 2016, but I began my AIP journey January 2017. My complete remission began July of 2017. I have not taken ANY medication since the start of my journey and have never felt better. This led me to begin training as an AIP Certified Coach. I have helped so many people so far and I would like to help so many more with their autoimmune disease and the disease of obesity.
I look forward to helping YOU on your journey to vitality, strength, and healing at VSH Health for a wholistic approach to complete wellness.
